State Senator Jil Tracy (R-Quincy) is taking on a new leadership role once the 102nd General Assembly commences on January 13th as the newly appointed Republican Senate Caucus Whip.
“The interests and concerns of 47th District residents will remain my top priorities, but as Senate Whip, I will be able to bring our region’s commonsense and real-life insight to the discussion about issues like creating jobs and easing the tax burden for working families and businesses,” Sen. Tracy said in a statement released on Facebook.
Sen. Tracy has never shied away from leadership roles within the Republican party, and as a Spokesperson for the Senate Telecommunications and Information Technology Committee, and the Government Accountability/Ethics Committee her colleagues have learned to trust in her ability to lead.
“Senator Tracy is widely respected not just in our caucus, but the General Assembly as whole,” Dan McConchie, Senate Republican Leader Designate (R-Hawthorn Woods) said in a social media post.
“She knows exactly who she is and what she is here to do, (and) that confidence and understanding of what Illinois needs to become,... is invaluable in our leadership team."
From 2006 through 2014, Sen. Tracy was a member of the House of Representatives and has service on in the Senate since 2016.
