City of Galesburg Tree Commission met Nov. 9.
Here is the minutes provided by the commission:
Meeting was called to order by Tony Oligney-Estill at 4:00 P.M.
Roll Call: Present: Members: Pat Trant, Ann Pennington, Debbie Steinberg, Jane Easterly, City Arborist-Roy Flaige and Director of Parks & Recreation-Tony Oligney-Estill Absent: Millie Allen
Minutes of October 12, 2020 where approved.
Arborist Report:
• The Arborist Report was approved.
• Roy mentioned that he cleaned up and organized the Tree Nursery.
Old Business:
• Debbie completed Standish Arboretum Map. She will send the members of the commission a copy for our review.
• Roy had a suggestion on a type of tree to plant around the Library. Roy will send a
picture of the tree to Jane for her approval. The earliest Roy will be able to plant these trees is spring 2021.
• Tony has asked the commissioners to review the tree canopy of the City which is on the City website. Tony will forward the link to the tree inventory again. Tony would like to discuss where in the City the commissioners think we should plant trees in the spring.
