Q1 2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Knox County?

There were 20 offenders released on parole during the first quarter of 2020 that live in Knox County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Galesburg Reporter.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Knox County were men. The median age of the parolees was 34. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man sentenced in 2020, and the oldest was a 49-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2016.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Eric E. Denniston. He was convicted in 2009 when he was 38 years old. He is now 49.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter of 2020 in each Knox County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
