Elba-Salem Fire Protection District responded to 11 calls in 2018 - 31.2 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Elba-Salem included 10 fires - five structure fires, one vehicle fire and four other fires.

In all, the department saw $700 in fire loss - or about $70 per fire.

The department also received one false call.

The Elba-Salem Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $240,959 in 2018.
