McDonough County Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met Aug. 11.

The Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee Members in attendance included Chair Larry Aurelio, Vice Chair Marcia Twaddle, Lee Calvert, Dave Cortelyou, Terra Litchfield, Bob Mahr, Deckle McLean, and Paul Trimmer. Others in attendance included County Board Chair Scott Schwerer, Elms Administrator Tim Bledsoe, Patrick Stout, Sheriff Nick Petitgout, and Committee Secretary Stacey Alexander.
Chair Aurelio called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.
Review and Approval of July 14, 2020 Minutes
Member Mahr moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to approve the July 14, 2020 Minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Farm Report
With having some rain, the crops are looking good.
Administrator’s Report
The Elm’s Administrator, Tim Bledsoe gave the report. Census is at 65, with 10 being Medicare A, 15 private pay, 2 Hospice Private, 5 Hospice Medicaid, and 32 Medicaid. ADC is 63 and employee turnover percentage is 10%. Agency hours and cost was zero. Medicaid owes $315,875.17, and Medicare owes $179,702.81. In June they admitted 9 new residents, and discharged 8. Bledsoe reported that all residents and staff were tested for Covid and that all results were negative, the State lost the first set of tests for employees so they were tested a 2nd time. The new payroll system is working and has reduced the time dedicated to payroll by 8-10 hours. They have been allowing residents to have visitors, all visits are being held outside.
Financial Report
Member Trimmer moved with a second by Member Mahr to approve the July 2020 Financial Reports. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Elms Claims
Member Trimmer moved with a second by Member McLean to approve the Elm’s claims as submitted. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 8 yeas, 0 nays, 0 vacant and 0 absent.
Macomb Public Building Commission
Sheriff Petitgout said that they are still working on the lock boxes at the jail.
McDonough County Maintenance Directors Report
Allen Sheffler was unavailable to give the report. Member Trimmer asked how Chad has been handling things, County Chair Schwerer said that Chad has been handling things for now.
Building and Grounds Claims
Member Mahr moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to approve the July Building and Grounds Claims. Motion carried on a voice vote.

County Board Chair Comments
County Chair Schwerer informed the Committee that budget meetings will be held on August 11th at 3:00 p.m. and August 12 at 3:00 and 6:00 p.m.

Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Calvert to adjourn the meeting at 7:13 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
