McDonough County Road and Bridge Committee met July 2.

The McDonough County Road and Bridge Committee held their monthly meeting at 7:00 P.M. The meeting was held via Zoom call. Committee Members present included Chair Trevor Toland, Vice Chair Dave Cortelyou, Mike Cox, Marcia Twaddle, Ken Durkin, and George Dixon. Members McGrew and Marcott were absent. Other persons in attendance: Rick Walker, Patrick Stout, County Chair Scott Schwerer, Scott Hance and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes.
Chair Trevor Toland called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
Review Minutes from June 4, 2020
Member Durkin motioned to approve minutes as submitted by committee, with a second by Member Twaddle. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Approve Intergovernmental Agreement for Seal Coating South Townships
Member Cox motioned to approve the Intergovernmental Agreement for Seal Coating South Township’s, Member Durkin seconded. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Approve Resolution for Maintenance Under the Illinois Highway Code Section 20-00000-00-GM
Member Durkin motioned to approve Resolution for Maintenance Under the Illinois Highway Code Section 20-00000-00- GM, amending MFT to add an additional $80,000 of salt, Member Dixon seconded. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Escapa Guard Rail Claim
An accident damaged guard rail by Industry. $5,824.56 was billed to the individuals Insurance Company. The insurance does not want to pay full amount, they paid $4,659.65, so $1,164.91 remains due. States Attorney Kwacala added, have the driver billed and a deadline of August 1, 2020.

Report given by Engineer Rick Walker.
Claims
Member Durkin moved with a second by Member Dixon to approve the claims submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Other Business
Township Road concerning Sugar Creek. Chair Schwerer said Steve Ashwood would like the County to assist with road repair for additional wear and tear on township road. The County has a detour route directed on County Roads. County does not have funds for this as it directs people on County roads. Project should be done in September.
Sugar Creek Bridge, last pour will be on Tuesday.
Tiger’s project is complete, Engineer Walker praised the County Crew for the job they did. Chair Schwerer gave compliments to Hire Township. Thank them for doing a job for the Elms.
