McDonough County Finance Committee met July 8.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

The monthly Finance Committee meeting was held at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, 2nd Floor Main Courtroom. Committee members present were Chair Travis Hiel, Vice Chair Larry Aurelio, Dave Nissen and Trevor Toland. Member Clark and Member McGrew were absent. Others in attendance included County Chair Scott Schwerer, County Vice Chair Mike Cox, County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes and Patrick Stout.

Chair Hiel called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Review and Approve Minutes from June 10, 2020

Vice Chair Aurelio motioned to approve minutes from June 10, 2020, Member Toland seconded. Motion carried on a voice vote.

MCPT Report Review & Approval

Member Toland motioned to approve MCPT Report with a total of $2,037.00 for May-June, 2020, second by Member Aurelio. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Bushnell Senior Meals Report Review & Approval

Motion to approve May YMCA Senior Meals for $203.40 moved by Member Aurelio, second by Member Toland. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Coroner Report

The monthly Coroner Report was received and filed.

Monthly Financial Reports

The monthly Financial Reports were received and filed.

Transfer of Funds

None.

Warrants Issued in Vacation

County Chair Schwerer motioned to approve the Warrants Issued in Vacation, Member Clark seconded. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Board Approval of Transfer & Appropriation of Monies

None.

Discuss Health Department Payroll Taxes

Chair Hiel will discuss with Member Twaddle.

Approve CARES Act Resolution

Member Toland motioned to approve CARES Act Resolution, member Aurelio seconded. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Discuss Courthouse IT Services

Chair Schwerer reported to the Committee that the general consensus of the current service is slow. County Clerk DeJaynes would like to see them rebid the IT work with consideration of using Josh Hughes as an in-house IT person. Chair Hiel is going to talk with TimbukTech to discuss these issues.

Set Coroner Salary Resolution

Member Toland motioned to increase Coroner’s salary 2%, 2021-$38,250 2022-$39,015 2023-$39,795 2024-$40,591, Member Aurelio second. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Approval of Claims

Member Nissen motioned to approve the Claims as submitted, Vice Chair Aurelio seconded. Motion carried on a voice vote.

County Board Chair Comments

None.

Other

Discussed States Attorney Salary. Chair Schwerer discussed Covid-19 cases.

Adjourn

Member Toland moved with a second by Vice Chair Aurelio that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried on a voice vote. With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
