McDonough County Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met July 14.

The Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met on Tuesday July 14, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Main Courtroom. Committee members in attendance included Chair Larry Aurelio, Vice Chair Marcia Twaddle, Lee Calvert, Terra Litchfield, Bob Mahr, Paul Trimmer, Dave Cortelyou and Deckle McLean. Others in attendance included County Board Chair Scott Schwerer, Elms Administrator Tim Bledsoe, Patrick Stout and County Clerk DeJaynes.

Chair Aurelio called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Farm Report

The crops are growing rapidly.

Administrator’s Report

Elms Administrator Tim Bledsoe gave the report. Census is at 62, with 4 being Medicare A, 0 Medicare B, 18 private pay, 2 Hospice Private, 3 Hospice Medicaid, 35 Medicaid. ADC 61.5 and Turnover percentage is 4.81%. Agency hours, 0 and Agency Cost, $280. Medicaid owes $394,211.10. Medicare owes $219,101.06. In June admissions: Home 6, Nursing home 1, Assisted Living 0, Acute Care Hospital 4 and Private 2. May discharges: Home 6, Funeral Home 3, Group Home 0 Acute Care Hospital 0, Assisted Living 0.

Financial Report

Member Mahr moved with a second by Member McLean to approve the June 2020 Financial Reports. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Elms Claims

Member McLean moved with a second by Member Calvert to approve the Elm’s claims as submitted. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 8 yeas, 0 nays, 0 vacant and 0 absent.

Macomb Public Building Commission

Nothing has been heard on communication boxes.

Zahrn Building

No Report.

McDonough County Maintenance Directors Report

Allen Sheffler gave report. Elevator was certified, fire extinguishers checked and pest control has been done. Chad fixed the tile in front of the traffic door, took about four hours to complete. Member Litchfield asked about the lean-to at the Animal Shelter. Sheffler did not remember agreeing, she also asked about the gutters and Sheffler said he couldn’t do. Allen is checking in to this and will get back to HR & Planning committee. Member Litchfield said she is unhappy that the Animal Shelter has been overlooked.

Building and Grounds Claims

Member Trimmer moved with a second by Member Mahr to approve the June Building and Grounds Claims. Motion carried on a voice vote.

County Board Chair Comments

Chair Schwerer reported there was five new cases of Covid in the last two days.

Adjourn

Member Cortelyou moved and Member Litchfield with a second to adjourn the meeting at 6:18 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
