Call to Order/Roll Call The Monmouth-Roseville C.U.S.D. #238 Board of Education met in a special meeting on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. via teleconference hosted from the Board Room at 105 North E Street, Monmouth, IL. The roll was read and the following Members responded: Bratcher, Froelich, Killey, Sells, Trego, and Watson. Member Brooks was absent. (6). Roll call #1.
Pledge of Allegiance President Killey led the Members and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Public Comments None.
New Business
A. Discussion regarding our transition to school plan for the 2020-2021 school year.
The Superintendent led the meeting in a discussion regarding the reevaluation of in person attendance for the 20-21 school year. Principal Pilger read a letter addressed to the Board from the administrative team regarding safety concerns for in person learning. MREA President Lana Stewart also provided input regarding the association's concerns with safety and in person attendance and the Board engaged in the conversation with questions and discussions.
Closed Session At 7:51 p.m. Member Trego moved to enter into closed session and Member Watson seconded the motion. On roll call the following Members voted AYE: Froelich, Killey, Sells, Trego, Watson, and Bratcher (6). Motion carried. Roll call #2
Return to Open Session At 8:28 p.m. Member Trego moved and Member Watson seconded a motion to return to Open Session. The following Members voted AYE: Froelich, Killey, Sells, Trego, Watson, and Bratcher (6). Motion carried. Roll call #3
Action Taken as a Result of Closed Session Member Froelich moved to move the first day of school from August 19, 2020 to August 24, 2020 and Member Watson seconded the motion. On roll call the following Members voted AYE: Trego, Sells, Watson, Bratcher, Killey, and Froelich (6). Motion carried. Roll call #4
Member Trego moved and Member Froelich seconded a motion for the District to enter the 2020-2021 school year via Remote Learning for the first semester including Remote Learning
Open Session
Planning Days on August 19, 20, and 21. On roll call the following Members voted AYE: Froelich, Killey, Bratcher, Watson, Sells and Trego (6). Motion carried. Roll call #5
At 8:32 p.m. member Trego moved to close the meeting. Member Froelich seconded the motion. On roll the following Members voted AYE: Froelich, Killey, Bratcher, Watson, Sells and Trego (6). Motion carried. Roll call #6.
The President declared the meeting closed.
