Q3 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Effingham County?

There were five offenders released on parole during the third quarter of 2019 that live in Effingham County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Galesburg Reporter.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Effingham County were men. The median age of the parolees was 32. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2018, and the oldest was a 45-year-old man sentenced for a financial crime or fraud in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was James E. Meyer. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2016 when he was 30 years old. He is now 35.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the third quarter of 2019 in each Effingham County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
