McDonough County Human Resources and Planning Committee met June 11.

The Human Resources and Planning Committee met at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held via Zoom Call. Committee Members in attendance included Committee Chair Letha Clark, Vice Chair Mike Cox, Larry Aurelio, George Dixon, Michael Kirby, Deckle McLean, Dave Nissen and Terra Litchfield. Others in attendance included County Chair Scott Schwerer, Dr. Karen Blakely, Bonnie Scripps, Gayle Carper, Chad Sperry, and County Clerk DeJaynes.
Chair Letha Clark called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Review and Approve Minutes from May 14, 2020
Member McLean motioned to approve minutes from May 14, 2020, second by Member Litchfield. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Animal Control Report
Dr. Blakely gave Animal Control Report.
Maintenance at the shelter needs done on the facia of the building.
Monday the Shelter will open to one family at a time in each cat room.
Policies & Procedures
None.
Humane Society:
Bonnie Scripps asked if cat special could be extended to the end of June. June is adopt a shelter cat month.
Member Cox made a motion to extend cat sale through June ($40 for cat or kitten and $25 for long term cats), Member Kirby seconded. Motion passed on a voice vote.
GIS Update
Chad Sperry gave a GIS demo. Sperry also showed the aerial done in March; he told the Committee it will most likely be up on the web in September. He also showed the Committee how the GIS website works. Sperry gave an overview of the Covid-19 tracking and showed his new drone.
Claims
Member Litchfield motioned to approve claims as submitted, seconded by Member Aurelio. Motion carried on voice vote.
Other
Member Dixon questioned an incident on a dog situation in Colchester.
Chair Schwerer commented seven new Covid-19 cases today, also he commented on what a great job Chad Sperry & GIS are doing.
Member Aurelio is going to talk with Bill Butcher about a commercial washer for the Shelter.

Member Aurelio moved, with a second by Member Dixon, that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried on a voice vote. With no further business to discuss the meeting adjourned at 7:48 p.m.
