Analysis: Monmouth pays $7.43 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Monmouth Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 88.1 percent of the $720,272 the Monmouth Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $7.43 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Galesburg Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Monmouth contributed $634,884 to the fund, which saw a $63,590 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $85,388, or 11.9 percent, in 2018.
