Warren County Board met May 13.

Here is the agenda provided by the board:

At the special meeting of the county board of Warren County, Illinois, held at the courthouse in the city of Monmouth at 9:30 AM the following members were present:

PRESENT: Honorable William Reichow, Tim Bresnahan, Dan Byers, Sean Cavanaugh, Tiffany Cole, Dave Greenlief, Steve Hawkins, David Jenks, Michael Pearson, Mark Richardson, Lyman Schar, William Thompson, Robbie Way, Todd Winkler 

ABSENT: Michael McVey, John Ockert

CLERK: Tina M. Conard The chair declared a quorum present and the meeting was opened for business.

CHANGES AND/OR AMENDMENTS TO AGENDA 

Warren County Budget and cost savings measures.

Highway Department 

Sheriff's Department 

Courthouse

Highway Department Mr. Fender talked about the concern about motor fuel tax and pulling back on some equipment purchases. Mark Richardson asked how much money they would be saving by not buying new equipment, Mr. Fender said $100,000.00.

Warren County budget and cost savings measures Mr. Pearson bounced around ideas to reduce the courthouse days. We do not have excess employees so opted for four days. Notified union for thirty day notice, June 12th, 2020. Will continue with health insurance. Read a letter of resignation from Kathleen Ellliot, Assessor. Other options are to not fill positions, possibility of layoff at the Sheriff's department.

Mr. Pearson made a motion to close the courthouse on Fridays beginning June 12th, 2020 until further notice. Mr. Thompson seconded the motion and after much discussions and voiced concerns Mr. Bresnahan called for the question: the following vote was taken,

Ayes: Byers, Cavanaugh, Cole, Greenlief, Hawkins, Jenks, Pearson, Reichow, Richardson, Schar, Thompson, Way, Winkler, Bresnahan

Nays: None 

Absent: McVey, Ockert 

The chair declared the motion carried

Health Department Jenna talked about the possible need for the county to create a work group that puts something together regarding opening businesses and safety precautions. She handed out an update on virus cases.

Mr. Jenks updated the board members on the Assessment office and issues with the tax process. Mr. Reichow thanked the Finance committee for all their hard work.

ADJOURN 

Mr. Pearson made a motion to adjourn the Special County Board Meeting, Mr. Greenlief seconded the motion and on a voice vote the meeting was adjourned until 9:30 am on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, for the regular Warren County Board Meeting.
