A new Diamond Ag retail store will be opening west of Knoxville at the intersection of Knox County Highway 10 and U.S. Route 150.
The builders broke ground last month, according to WGIL, and will be the third Diamond Ag location. The other stores are in Warren and Mercer County.
Owners Andy Fleisher and Todd Bennett told WGIL that together they have 50 years of experience in the industry.
“If we’re up and running outside of Knoxville within 90 days, we’ll consider that a win,” Fleisher said. “We’re thinking right about now that that will be about the beginning or middle of what we call the corn-tassel-fungicide season. We may be able to run some product through there during that time. Then we’ll go right into the soybean fungicide application season.”
Fleisher and Bennett bought the old Birkey’s Farmstore in Aledo and built a new store in Alexis near Highway 67.
