Village of Altona Village Board met Jan. 2.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

  The board meeting was called to order on Thursday, January 2nd, by President Derrick Appell. Board memberspresent: President: Derrick Appell, Treasurer: Mark Compton, Clerk: Kelly Scott and Trustees: Dale Grawe,Shirley Kistler, Keith Holland, Nick Morris, Brian DeVito and Ryan West. Public present: Members of the press,Chad Long: Village Attorney and 1 guest.

 Minutes approved from December 5th, 2019 meeting with motion to approve with an addition under OldBusiness: R.O.W.V.A. to use Altona Ball Diamond: (need to add the following) we received a sample ofagreement from Oneida that could be used for moving forward by Dale with and 2nd by Ryan. All Ayes.

 Payment of bills approved for January 2020 was motioned by Ryan and 2nd by Nick. Ayes: Dale, Shirley, Nick,Ryan and Brian. Abstain: Keith Passes: 5-0-1

 Financial report was reviewed by Mark Compton. No Interfund transfer were made.

 Public Comment:

Rich Wegner had a comment about the official Altona website. He stated that you can’t

download any information without paying an 8.99/mo. fee. He was going to download the FOIA instructions,but they wanted that fee to be paid before he could do that. He had asked if it was going to be left that way ofdoes the Village get a percentage of the fee? Derricks reply was that it’s free and the Village pays nothing andreceives nothing. There is money appropriated every year for a website but no one has ever made a motion to do so. It is going to stay that way at this time. It’s for informational purposes and everything he does is on thefree side of that website so it is limited on what can be done. Rich stated that he would like to offer to set-up awebsite for the Village at no cost to the Village.Old Business

 Code Book Revision: Nuisance Review & Other Ordinances: No changes, will be taken off the agenda.

 R.O.W.V.A. to use Altona Ball Diamond: Received a copy of the 2018 intergovernmental agreement betweenthe City of Oneida & ROWVA School District.New Business:

 Announcements were read by Derrick:

 Appropriations: Need to start thinking about additions/changes for the upcoming fiscal year.Committee Reports

 Water/Sewer:

 Streets/Garbage:

 Ward Street & S. Station Street Drainage: waiting on 1 form

 Garbage contract is up this year

 Use of cinders are getting harder to find. Several places have a waiting list.

 Parks/Sidewalks:

 Tree Removal: Still in progress.

 Baby Swing: Need to remove the old baby swing and discuss purchasing a new one at a later date.

 Employee Report:

 Adjournment: Dale motioned to adjourn at 7:24 p.m. and Shirley 2nd

= the motion. All Ayes. The next scheduled meeting will be Thursday, February 6th, 2020
