McDonough County Elms Building & Grounds Committee met Dec. 10.

The Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at The Elms. Committee members in attendance included Chairman Larry Aurelio, Lee Calvert, David Cortelyou, Terra Litchfield, Bob Mahr, Deckle McLean and Paul Trimmer. Others in attendance included County Board Chair George Dixon, County Board Administrative Assistant Danette Phelps, Allen Sheffler, Elms Administrator Tim Bledsoe and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes. Vice Chair Marcia Twaddle was absent.
Chairman Aurelio called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Review and Approval of November 12, 2019 Minutes
Member Trimmer moved, with second by Member Calvert, to approve the November 12, 2019 minutes. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Farm Report
No report.
Administrator’s Report
Elms Administrator Tim Bledsoe gave the report. Census is at 68. They have installed television monitors in the halls to let people know what is going on at the Elms – for staff, families and patients. They are working on implementing and RA program to encourage CNAs to enter into a nursing program. They are trying to implement a CNA online course.
Financial Report
Member Litchfield moved, with a second by Member McLean, to approve the November 2019 Financial Report. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Elms Claims
Member Mahr moved, with a second by Member Cortelyou, to approve the Elm’s claims. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 7 yeas, 0 nays, 0 vacant and 1 absent.
Macomb Public Building Commission
Member Mahr reported that new locks on the jail still need to be installed.
McDonough County Maintenance Directors Report
Allen Sheffler reported. The rope on the flag pole was replaced. New flags were put up. More new flags will need to be ordered in about 3 months. Candles in the courthouse were placed in time for Dickens on the Square. Pest Control will be in to spray the building. There are several jail projects in progress.
Discuss of Maintenance Time Sheet for May 2019
Discussion was had regarding incorrectly documented compensation time for Chad Wilson for May 2019. Member Litchfield moved, with a second by Member Mahr, to correct the timesheet.

With no further business to discuss, Member Cortelyou moved, with a second by Member Mahr, to adjourn the meeting at 7:43 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
