Abingdon-Avon Community Unit No. 276 Board of Education met Jan. 29.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The special meeting of the Abingdon-Avon CUSD 276 Board of Education was held on January 29, 2020. The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m, with Brooks presiding. The following members were present: Serven, Terwilliger, Craver, Quinn, Hess, Mason, and Brooks.

A motion was made by Mr. Craver and seconded by Mr. Quinn to approve an FFA Overnight Trip to Decatur 2/7-8. Roll call: Serven, yea; Terwilliger, yea; Craver, yea; Hess, yea; Mason, yea; and Brooks, yea. Motion passed.

Strategic Planning Discussion: The Board discussed the Governor's potential school construction bill. The Board discussed a Goal Setting Meeting for creating three and five year plans in several areas. One of which is facilities. The Board discussed the design and cost of an all-weather track with representatives from Klingner and Associates. The Board also discussed the cost of replacing the bleacher seats in the AAHS gymnasium.

A motion was made by Mr. Serven and seconded by Mr. Quinn to Adjourn at 8:16 p.m. Roll call: Serven, yea; Terwilliger, yea; Craver, yea; Hess, yea; Mason, yea; and Brooks, yea. Motion passed
