Community Unit School District #205 Board of Education met Jan. 16.

Call To Order/Roll Call

The Community Unit School District #205 Board of Education met in a special meeting on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 6:00 PM at Galesburg High School, 1135 W. Fremont St, Galesburg, IL. The meeting was called to order by President Cervantez. The roll was read and the following Members responded: Cervantez, Hunigan, Lyon, Phelps, Rodriguez (5) Absent: Scherpe, Walters (2) Roll Call #1

Consider Approval of Furniture Bid Specifications

It was moved by Member Phelps and seconded by Member Rodriguez to approve the Furniture Bid Specifications as presented. Board member discussion ensued with Member Lyon raising concerns about the process and turnover. Member Phelps raised concerns regarding the bid being so over budget. Mrs. Hamm explained the process that brought the quick timing of getting final details to the Board for voting. On roll call no Members voted AYE, the following Members voted NAY: Hunigan, Lyon, Phelps, Rodriguez, Cervantez (5) Motion denied. Roll Call #2

President Cervantez exited the meeting at 6:10PM.

Community Question and Answer Session

Dr. Asplund began the question and answer session with the previously submitted questions and then answered additional questions from members of the community who were present until all questions had been asked.

Member Lyon exited the meeting at 7:13PM

Adjournment

It was moved by Member Hunigan and seconded by Member Rodriguez that the meeting be adjourned—7:23 PM. On voice vote the following Members voted AYE: Hunigan, Phelps, Rodriguez (3) Motion carried. Roll Call #3
