Asian American Advisory Council met Nov. 20.
Here is the minutes provided by the council:
Call to order by Santhosh at 2:26 pm.
Motion was made to approve the minutes. Minutes were passed.
2019 accomplishments and 2020 goals are tabled until the January meeting.
Intern project. The paid interns training program is expanded to 16 weeks. Interns were for DCP only. There is a need to include placement for the intern project.
Staffing issues were discussed. The CMS hiring process may be changing. DCFS may be allowed to grade certain titles. Interviews were held on 10/23/19 @ 1911 for placement workers. Twenty three people were invited. Sixteen showed and eight were qualified. Deferred assignment for placement was a suggestion. At the meeting with the other councils and the Director, we can ask that OES be present.
The foster parent data base can’t be searched by any language other than sign language and Spanish. We can create our own list. Send names to Barbara.
