ity of Galesburg Tree Commission met Dec. 9.

Here is the minutes provided by the commission:

Meeting was called to order by Tony Oligney-Estill at 4:00 P.M.

Roll Call: Present: Members: Millie Allen, Pat Trant, Jane Easterly, Debbie Steinberg, City Arborist-Ryan Creek and Director of Parks & Recreation, Tony Oligney-Estill

Absent: Ann Pennington

Minutes of October 14, 2019 where approved. Arborist Report:

• The Arborist report was approved.

Old Business:

• Jane suggested two locations to have new terrace trees planted around the library near where trees were removed. Ryan will follow up with Jane to see where those locations are and if we can plant trees there. Since the earliest we can plant trees is not until spring 2020, it was discussed planting the trees at the Library as the location for the Arbor Day planting in April.

• Tony plans to meet with Don Miles and Ryan to formulate a plan to deal with the list of trees and stumps that need to be removed throughout the City. There will be a plan prior to spring 2020. This plan may include hiring a contractor.

New Business:

• As there have been two new Commissioners added to the Tree Commission over the past 3 months, Tony has asked each Commissioner to set a few goals they would like to see the Commission work toward in 2020. The goals will be discussed at the January 13, 2020 meeting.

Citizen Comments:

• Wayne Allen mentioned that the Gift of Lights in Lincoln Park is currently going on. It is open on the next two Friday and Saturdays in December.

Meeting adjourned at 4:23 P.M.
