Central Community Unit School District No. 4 Board of Education met Oct. 28.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The meeting of the Board of Education was called to order by President Paul Swanson at 6:04 P.M. on October 28, 2019, for the purpose of Executive Session. The Regular Meeting followed at 7:06 P.M. The meetings were held at the Board Office in Ashkum, Illinois.

Roll Call

Upon the call of roll, the following members answered present: Swanson, Seibring, Beherns, Meier, Hack, Shule, and Luhrsen.

Others in Attendance

Also in attendance were Superintendent Evans and Administrators: Vickie Marquis, Marc Shaner, Andrea Lemenager, Dawn Oltmanns, and Brian Spooner. Visitors in attendance were Wendy Davis, Nicole Weakley, Jackie Meils, and Holly Marquis.

Executive Session

A motion to go in to Executive Session was made by Member Seibring and seconded by Member Shule at 6:04 P.M. for the purpose of discussing the Employment or Dismissal of Personnel, and Student Discipline pursuant to the authority granted by 5ILCS 120/2(C)(1) and (9) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act.

Return to Regular A motion to come out of Executive Session was made by Member Session

Hack and seconded by Member Seibring at 7:00 P.M.

Motion passed without dissent.

Approve Agenda

A motion to approve the agenda was made by Member Meier and seconded by Member Hack.

Motion passed without dissent.

Public Comment

A representative from the parent group spoke about concerns with air quality at Chebanse Elementary School and desire to investigate air conditioning costs to help eliminate the problem.

Superintendent's Report

Mrs. Evans reported on the successes of our cross country and football teams as well as the production of the fall musical at Central High School.

Consent Agenda

A motion to approve the consent agenda as listed was made by Member Beherns and seconded by Member Shule.

Motion passed without dissent.

NEW BUSINESS

Snow Removal Services

A motion to approve the assignment for snow removal services for 2019-2020 to Prairie Brothers Inc. of Clifton was made by Member Shule and seconded by Member Hack.

Motion passed without dissent.

Approval of Executive Session Minutes

A motion to approve Executive Session minutes of October 28, 2019 was made by Member Beherns and seconded by Member Seibring.

Motion passed without dissent.

Recommendations to Hire

A motion to approve the recommendation to hire the following positions: Kelly Gifford - fall musical vocal director; Lauren Rybolt - fall musical assistant director; Jordan Emling - fall musical choreographer; Lisa Kleinert - fall musical prop director; and Amy Rohlwing - response to intervention paraprofessional at Nash Middle School was made by Member Shule and seconded by Member Meier.

Aye: Swanson, Seibring, Beherns, Hack, Shule, Luhrsen, and Meier 

Nay: None

Absent: None

Resignation

A motion to accept the resignation of Barb Perzee as lunchroom supervisor at Chebanse Elementary School effective October 25, 2019 was made by Member Meier and seconded by Member Seibring.

Motion passed without dissent.

Nash Speech Coach

A motion to approve Kenna Massey as a volunteer speech coach at Nash Middle School was made by Member Hack and seconded by Member Shule.

Student Discipline

A motion to approve the student discipline report for October 2019, as presented, was made by Member Shule and seconded by Member Meier.

Motion passed without dissent.

Adjournment

A motion to adjourn was made at 8:15 P.M. by Member Luhrsen and seconded by Member Hack.

Motion passed without dissent.
