Central Community Unit School District 4 Board met Nov. 25.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

November 25, 2019

The meeting of the Board of Education was called to order by President Paul Swanson at 6:00 p.m. on November 25, 2019 for the purpose of Executive Session. The Regular Meeting followed at 7:05 p.m. The meetings were held at the Board Office in Ashkum, Illinois.

Roll Call

Upon the call of roll, the following members answered present: Members Swanson, Seibring, Meier, Hack, Shule, and Luhrsen. Absent: Member Beherns.

Others in Attendance

Also in attendance were Superintendent Evans and Administrators: Marc Shaner, Dawn Oltmanns, Andrea Lemenager, and Brian Spooner. Visitors in attendance were David Ladehoff and Amy Ramsey.

Executive Session

A motion to go in to Executive Session was made by Member Shule and seconded by Member Meier at 6:00 p.m. for the purpose of discussing the Employment or Dismissal of Personnel, and Student Discipline pursuant to the authority granted by 5ILCS 120/2(C)(1) and (9) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act.

Return to Regular Session

A motion to come out of Executive Session was made by Member Session Hack and seconded by Member Meier at 7:03 p.m.

Motion passed without dissent.

Approve Agenda

A motion to approve the agenda was made by Member Meier and seconded by Member Hack.

Motion passed without dissent.

Public Comment None

Superintendent's Report

Superintendent Evans highlighted the seasons of football and cross country. Assemblies were held for Veteran's Day in each of the buildings.

Consent Agenda

A motion to approve the consent agenda as listed was made by Member Hack and seconded by Member Meier.

Motion passed without dissent.

Tentative Levy

A motion to adopt the 2019 Tentative Tax Levy at 4.99 percent was made by Member Shule and seconded by Member Hack.

Nay: None

Resolution to Transfer Funds

A motion to adopt the resolution to transfer interest from Working Cash to Life Safety was made by Member Meier and seconded by Member Shule.

Nay: None

CHS Curriculum Course Guide

A motion for consideration and action on the Central High School Curriculum Course Guide was made by Member Shule and seconded by Member Meier.

Motion passed without dissent.

Executive Session Minutes

A motion to approve Executive Session Minutes of November 25, 2019 was made by Member Meier and seconded by Member Shule.

Motion passed without dissent.

New Employees Hired

A motion to approve the recommendation to hire Melinda Meister as Chebanse cafeteria supervisor and Chianna Langley as a custodian at Nash Middle School was made by Member Meier and seconded by Member Shule.

Aye: Seibring, Hack, Shule, Luhrsen, Meier, and Swanson

Nay: None

Reassignment

A motion to approve the recommendation to reassign special education teacher Katrina Hockin from Chebanse Elementary to Central High School was made by Member Meier and seconded by Member Hack.

Motion passed without dissent.

Maternity Leave

A motion to approve a maternity leave request was made by Member Seibring and seconded by Member Shule.

Motion passed without dissent.

Special Education Teacher Posting

A motion to approve the request to post for a special education teacher at Chebanse Elementary was made by Member Meier and seconded by Member Shule.

Aye: Shule, Luhrsen, Meier, Swanson, Seibring, and Hack

Nay: None

Playoff Game Ticket Takers

A motion to approve the request to pay football playoff game ticket takers $60 per game or based on the IHSA guidelines was made by Member Shule and seconded by Member Meier.

Motion passed without dissent.

Student Discipline

A motion to approve student discipline reports for November 2019 as presented was made by Member Shule and seconded by Member Meier.

Motion passed without dissent.

Adjournment

A motion to adjourn was made at 8:05 p.m. by Member Luhrsen and seconded by Member Meier.
