Village of Altona Village Board met Nov. 7.
Here is the minutes provided by the Board:
- The board meeting was called to order on Thursday, November 7th, by President Derrick Appell. Board members present: President: Derrick Appell, Treasurer: Mark Comption, Clerk: Kelly Scott and Trustees: Dale Grawe, Keith Holland, Nick Morris, Brian DeVito and Ryan West Absent: Shirley Kistler. Public present: Carol Townsend from the press, Chad Long - Village Attorney and 4 guests.
Minutes approved from October 3rd, 2019 meeting with motion to approve by Keith and 2nd by Nick. All Ayes
Payment of bills approved for November 2019 was motioned by Dale and 2nd by Keith. Ayes: Dale, Keith, Nick, Ryan and Brian. Passes: 5-0-1
Financial report reviewed by Mark Compton.
Public Comment:
Old Business
Public Apology: A public apology was given to Barb Grawe from Derrick Appell for an error in documentation. This error has been corrected with the Court House
Code Book Revision: Nuisance Review and Other Ordinances: Still in progress
New Business:
Announcements were read by Derrick:
R.O.W.V.A. to use Altona Ball Diamond: There was discussion of letting the Jr. High/Hugh School Girls Softball teams to be allowed to use the Altona Ball Diamond. Will discuss at a later date.
Committee Reports
Water/Sewer:
Streets/Garbage:
- Ward Street and S. Station Station Drainage: Contracts are being drawn up.
Parks/Sidewalks:
- Update on Playground containment system: This has been completed.
- Sidewalk Replacement Update: Completed
- Tree Removal: Still in progress. Still have a sycamore tree on Johnson Pyle that needs cut down, but need to wait until leaves are gone. Also, there is an Ash tree in Kufus Park that needs cut down and trees at ball diamond need to be trimmed.
Employee Report:
Closed Session: Annual Employee Review: Keith motioned to go into close session at 7:46 p.m. and Dale 2nd the motion. All Ayes.
Back into Open Session: Keith motioned to come out of closed session at 8:18 p.m. Nick 2nd the motion. All Ayes.
Adjournment: Keith motioned to adjourn at 8:19 p.m. and Ryan 2nd the motion. All Ayes. The next scheduled meeting will be Thursday, December 5th, 2019
