R.P. Lumber Company, Inc. issued the following announcement on July 20.
We're sure going to miss her! But the time has come. After 18 years with R.P. Lumber, working 6 days a week, Ona Mae is retiring! Every day, Ona Mae has come to work, rain or snow, smiling and exuding positivity in everything that she does. She has advanced right along with technology over the years, going from drawing kitchens by hand to computer generated drawings. Just yesterday, she was telling the story of when she got her first computer. Ona Mae's stories never get old.
During her years at R.P., she loved her customers and would receive flowers and gestures of appreciation from those she designed for. It's no wonder that during her career here at R.P., she received the Kitchen Designer of the Year award in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2014. In 2016, One Mae was runner up for that same award and received 3rd place in 2017. Her success here has been recognized by many.
Her R.P. team loves her and we will miss her. We're not sure who is going to fill the ice trays every day, but I can assure you that when we are hot and thirsty, we will all think of you and miss you immensely. We have valued her service over the years and we are going to miss her smile more than anything. Congratulations on your retirement, Ona Mae. Nebraska is gaining a legend!
