Q4 2018 Recap: Parolees in Galesburg convicted of property crimes

There were six offenders convicted of property crimes released on parole in Galesburg during the fourth quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Galesburg Reporter.

The data shows that two men and four women were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for property crimes was 27. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced in 2017, and the oldest was a 30-year-old woman sentenced in 2017.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Ronald Thomas. He was convicted of a property crime in 2017 when he was 23 years old. He is now 25.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the 50 cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders in Q4 2018 who were convicted of property crimes.
