Q1 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Knox County?

There were 25 offenders released on parole during the first quarter that live in Knox County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Galesburg Reporter.

The data shows that 21 men and four women were released in Knox County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 36. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 59-year-old man sentenced for homicide in 1990.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Dennie J. Stoneking. He was convicted of homicide in 1990 when he was 31 years old. He is now 59.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter in each Knox County municipality.
