Knoxville home prices fall in May 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in May 2017 in Knoxville fell by $27,750 while total sales increased by 50%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In May 2017, there were six homes sold, with a median sale price of $79,500 - a 25.9% decrease over the $107,250 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were four homes sold in Knoxville in May 2016.

The median sales tax in Knoxville for 2017 was $1,706. In 2016, the median sales tax was $1,799. This marks an decrease of 5.2%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.1%.
