Monmouth Police Department recently issued the following announcement.
The annual Independence-Monmouth Clean-up Day will be held on Saturday May 18, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 10 Deann Dr. in Independence. Due to the historically large attendance for debris disposal, admittance for disposal will be limited to people who reside within the city limits of Independence and Monmouth. Proof of address may be required at the entrance gate. The cost for dropping of debris will be $10.00 per vehicle; a loaded vehicle with a small trailer will cost $20.00, and large non-hydraulic trailers will cost $20.00.
Our community clean-up is held in conjunction with SOLVE Project Oregon. Volunteers are needed for on-site assistance and community projects such as park restoration, riverbank clean-up and graffiti removal, along with beautification of our parks, schools, downtown areas and roadways. This event meets the high school community service requirements, while improving our communities. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers. Please call CSO Sue Albee at (503) 837-1127 to ensure that an ample lunch supply is on hand.
