The price of local government in 2016: Warren County

Budget 10

The Warren County budget was $10.79 million for its 2016 fiscal year.

That's an increase of 4.8 percent from 2015, when the county spent $10.30 million.

Warren County has a population of 17,527.

Since 2001, the Warren County budget has grown by 11.9 percent, from $9.64 million. The county population has fallen 6.4 percent over the same period, from 18,735.

Salaries accounted for 25 percent of county spending in 2016. Warren County property taxpayers paid $2.70 million for 61 full-time employees and 17 part-time employees.

In 2001, the county had 60 full-time employees and 39 part-time employees, and spent $2.46 million.
