Rio home prices rise in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in Rio rose by $21,250 while total sales decreased by 33.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were eight homes sold, with a median sale price of $62,500 - a 51.5% increase over the $41,250 median sale price for the previous year. There were 12 homes sold in Rio in 2016.

The median sales tax in Rio for 2017 was $1,704. In 2016, the median sales tax was $1,945. This marks an decrease of 12.4%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.7%.
