Knoxville home prices fall in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in Knoxville fell by $9,500 while total sales decreased by 41.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were 37 homes sold, with a median sale price of $65,500 - a 12.7% decrease over the $75,000 median sale price for the previous year. There were 63 homes sold in Knoxville in 2016.

The median sales tax in Knoxville for 2017 was $1,706. In 2016, the median sales tax was $1,799. This marks an decrease of 5.2%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.6%.
