East Galesburg home prices fall in the second half of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2017 in East Galesburg fell by $43,500 while total sales decreased by 28.6%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2017, there were five homes sold, with a median sale price of $48,000 - a 47.5% decrease over the $91,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were seven homes sold in East Galesburg in the second half of 2016.

The median sales tax in East Galesburg for 2017 was $1,230. In 2016, the median sales tax was $1,466. This marks an decrease of 16.1%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.6%.
