Altona home prices rise in the fourth quarter of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the fourth quarter of 2017 in Altona rose by $27,125 while total sales increased by 50%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From October through December of 2017, there were three homes sold, with a median sale price of $36,000 - a 305.6% increase over the $8,875 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were two homes sold in Altona in the fourth quarter of 2016.

The median sales tax in Altona for 2017 was $1,348.17. In 2016, the median sales tax was $1,394.60. This marks an decrease of 3.3%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 3.7%.
