Administrators in West Central Community Unit School District 235 earn an average of $78,193 per year, ranking 774th out of 864 districts in the state, according to a Galesburg Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 7.1% higher than in 2014 and 19% lower than in 2009. District administrators make 27.1% less than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Henderson County school district enrolled 789 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 132 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
