Turnbull Funeral Homes - Bigsville issued the following announcement on.

Obituary for Ryder Armstrong

Ryder Armstrong, age 3, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 10:42 P.M. on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at his home after battling childhood cancer for the past two years. He was born on September 1, 2015 in Galesburg, Illinois, the son of Ryan D. and Caylin E. (Mahr) Armstrong. Ryder loved watching boats while in Seattle, and was the recipient of "Ryder's Wish", a boat provided to him by the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He enjoyed wagon rides, the outdoors, keeping up with his big brother Tyler and was always on the move. Ryder was very decisive and wasn't afraid to share his feelings with his family. He loved watching "Curious George", "Paw Patrol", "Mickey Mouse", and "Puppy Dog Pals". In his short time here with us, Ryder was an inspiration and taught us courage, compassion, and love. Ryder is survived by his parents, Ryan and Caylin, his big brother, Tyler, maternal grandparents, David and Joy Mahr of Yates City, Illinois, paternal grandparents, Jack and Laura Armstrong of Monmouth, Illinois, and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by three great-grandmothers and two great-grandfathers.

A funeral service is planned for Ryder at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the First Christian Church in Monmouth, Illinois. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 P.M. and from 5:30-7:30 P.M. on Friday, January 4, 2019 also at the Church. Cremation will be accorded after the service. Memorials are being established for "Ride for Rider", the Make-A-Wish Foundation, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
