Support2

City of Monmouth recently issued the following announcement.

Date: Monday, October 8, 2018

Time: 4pm – 5pm

Location: WhereYMCA of Warren County, 700 W Harlem Ave, Monmouth, IL 61462, USA (map)

A Parkinson's Disease support group is being formed in Monmouth for Parkinson's patients and their caregivers. The group will meet on the second Monday of each month at 4:00 pm at the Warren County YMCA in Monmouth. The first meeting will take place Monday, September 10th in the Rock Steady work out room at the YMCA.

The purpose is to educate the members about the disease, to share information and offer mutual support. This is accomplished through guest speakers, discussion and the practical experience of the members. It's a place where those with Parkinson's and their caregivers feel understood and accepted. The support group can be an additional circle of friends that can talk freely about living with PD, exchange coping skills, inspire and empower one another and offer hope for the future.

Each meeting will have an agenda and topics of discussion. This includes guest speakers on the latest services available to PD patients. There will also be a question and answer period and a sharing of concern.
