CITY OF GALESBURG: Meeting for Residents Interested in the Help Eliminate Lead Program

City of Galesburg issued the following announcement on Aug. 21.

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity through a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) is granting funds to qualified applicants to address lead hazard remediation in their homes. The program is sponsored by the City of Galesburg and the Western Illinois Regional Council.

The funds are available to low to moderate income, 100% owner occupied households within certain income guidelines (see chart in attached flyer) that live in the City of Galesburg and have lead hazards in their home. Remediation of lead-based paint is an example of the type of lead hazards addressed through this grant funding.

All residents interested in applying for funding should attend the informational meeting conducted by the City of Galesburg on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall, 55 West Tompkins Street.
