Knoxville CFPD responds to 30 fires in 2017

Knoxville Central Fire Protection District responded to 35 calls in 2017 - 31.4 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Knoxville included 30 fires - 15 structure fires, three vehicle fires and 12 other fires.

In all, the department saw $312,600 in fire loss - or about $10,420 per fire.

The department also received five false calls.

The Knoxville Central Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $219,287 in 2017.
