Cost of college went up for all students at Knox College

Tuition and fees rose 3.9 percent for 2017-18 at Knox College, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

Illinois students paid $44,958 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year $1,673 more than the $43,285 charged for 2016-17.

Data shows 98 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 379 students received grants or scholarships totaling $11.12 million and 245 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.72 million.

Including all undergraduates, 1,352 students used grants or scholarships totaling $36.03 million. Another 873 took out $6.2 million in federal student loans.
