Report: Knoxville spent $8,829 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Knoxville Community Unit School District 202 is up 29 percent from five years ago, according to a Galesburg Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Knox County school district spent $6,834 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,829 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1160 to 1061.

Knoxville's spending in 2016-17 was 32 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
