Analysis: Monmouth pays $7.93 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Monmouth Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 88.8 percent of the $706,320 the Monmouth Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $7.93 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Galesburg Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Monmouth contributed $627,273 to the fund, which saw a $126,381 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $79,047, or 11.2 percent, in 2016.
