McDonough County Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met Sept. 14.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Law Library. Committee Members in attendance included, Vice Chair Terra Lithchfield, Dave Cortelyou, Cindi Helling, Travis Hiel, Deckle McLean, and Vicky Kipling. Members absent were Chair Aurelio, and Mike Cox. Others in attendance included County Board Chair Scott Schwerer, Elms Administrator Tim Bledsoe, Patrick Stout, Chad Wilson, Sheriff Nicholas Petitgout, and Committee Secretary Stacey Alexander.

Vice Chair Litchfield called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Review and Approval of August 10, 2021 Minutes

Member Hiel moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Farm Report

County Chair Schwerer informed the Committee that the beans are turning.

Administrator’s Report

Elms Administrator Tim Bledsoe gave the report. Census is at 68, with 4 being Medicare, 33 being Medicaid and, 20 private pay. Medicare currently owes $175,803.11. There were 30 admissions and, 25 discharges. Bledsoe also went over is budget request. Member Helling moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to approve the salary increase as proposed. Motion carried on a voice vote. Member Hiel Made a motion with a second by Member Kipling to approve a room rate increase as proposed by Elms Administrator Tim Bledsoe. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Financial Report

Member Hiel moved with a second by Member McLean to approve the August 2021 Financial Reports. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Elms Claims

Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member McLean to approve the Elm’s claims as submitted. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 6 yeas, 0 nays, 0 vacant and 2 absent.

Macomb Public Building Commission

County Chair Schwerer informed the Committee that they are taking bids for the sidewalk in front of the Jail

McDonough County Maintenance Directors Report

Chad Wilson gave the report. Wilson informed the Committee that the Assistant State’s Attorney’s Office will be done in two weeks, and that they replaced five windows that the air conditioning units came out of. Wilson stated that the Coop products were received, and the sprinklers are gone over.

Member Hiel informed the Committee that ARPA funds will be used to finish the mini split unit, and engineering for the water issue in the basement of the Courthouse.

Building and Grounds Claims

Member Helling moved with a second by Member Kipling to approve the August Building and Grounds Claims. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Other

County Board Chair Comments

County Chair Schwerer commended the Finance Committee on all their hard work with the ARPA fund. He also thanked the Office Holders, and Department Heads for their budget work.

Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Hiel to adjourn the meeting at 6:41 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
