McDonough County Board Road and Bridge Committee met July 11

Here is the agenda provided by the committee:

The McDonough County Road and Bridge Committee held their monthly meeting on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 6:00 P.M.

The Meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, 3rd Floor, Law Library. Committee Members present

included Chair Dave Cortelyou, Vice Chair Craig Foster, Eric Chapman, Mike Cox, Travis Hiel, and Jerry Raby. Members George Dixon and Jarad Royer were absent. Other persons in attendance: Patrick Stout, County Engineer Megan Crook, County Chair Scott Schwerer, and Deputy Clerk Emily Flynn.

Chair Dave Cortelyou called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M.

Review Minutes from June 6, 2024

Member Foster moved with a second by Member Raby to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Approve Resolution to Approve County Aid to Bridge Project #2142-32

Member Hiel moved with a second by Member Foster to approve the Resolution to Approve County Aid to Bridge Project #2142-32. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Scotland Township Bridge Resolution

Member Cox moved with a second by Member Foster to approve the Scotland Township Bridge Resolution. Motion carried on a voice vote.

2024 Striping

Engineer Crook informed the Committee that they are estimating $40,000.00 but will have a price by the next meeting.

Miscellaneous Project Updates

Engineer Crook informed the Committee that the Apple Orchard bridge project should start next week, they have started oiling and chipping the North part of the County, and work will begin on the rock quarry road next week. They have also been working with RWE Clean Energy Development regarding the wind farm, they are getting closer to a final draft.

Claims Review and Approval

Member Chapman moved with a second by Member Hiel to approve the claims submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

County Chair Comments

County Chair Schwerer stated that the Fandon/Ball Fore road looks good.

Member Foster moved with a second by Member Raby to adjourn the meeting at 6:15 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
