FOIA Request to Warren County Clerk Regarding 2025 Consolidated Elections Candidates on January 14, 2025.
As part of our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Galesburg Reporter have submitted a request for records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140.
Our request specifically seeks an electronic format list of candidates running for the upcoming 2025 Consolidated Elections. The requested information includes the candidate’s name, the date they filed their candidacy, and the office they are running for.
We believe that access to these public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As a media organization dedicated to disseminating information, we consider ourselves eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
