FOIA Request to Village Of Williamsfield regarding employee overtime records on February 1, 2026.
The Galesburg Reporter has submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Village Of Williamsfield in Illinois. The request seeks access to the village’s employee overtime records for the immediately preceding calendar month. The requested information includes details such as the name and job title of employees, their department or office, dates and number of overtime hours worked, and the compensation paid for this overtime.
The request emphasizes that it is intended to gather information of public interest for dissemination. It specifies that it does not require the creation of new documents but only requests existing records. In case any part of the request is denied, the requester asks for a specific statutory basis for denial and requests that all reasonably segregable portions of the records be released.
The Galesburg Reporter also highlights its role in holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As a member of The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization dedicated to investigating governmental agencies, they are seeking a fee waiver due to their media status.
We look forward to receiving this information in an electronic format as it will greatly aid in our reporting efforts. As always, we remain open for any questions or clarifications regarding this request.
